An Alliance for Dance Artists in Canada!? Myth or Reality?

This Past weekend I had the chance to contribute to a great organization. My dance company Gadfly performed Saturday April 4th in a fundraiser for The Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists. I only heard about this organization lees than a year ago and I am pretty sure many Street Dancer have never heard of such a thing. However, the services they offer to their members (estimated at nearly $1000) are worth the small membership fee required. The best thing about it is that dancers from any dance styles are eligible.

I strongly believe this organization is a resource that any street dancer should look into if not any Canadian dance artist period. They offer programs such as:

• Professional Standards
• Training and Professional Development
• Training Subsidy Program (TSP)
• Insurance Coverage
• Professional Discounts
